Ex-footballer Leon McKenzie claimed his first boxing title, beating Ivan Stupalo for the vacant International Masters super-middleweight crown.

The 36-year-old, who played in the Premier League for Norwich, beat the Croat 100-90 in the 10-round contest at the York Hall in London.

McKenzie turned professional in 2013 and is from a famous boxing family.

The southpaw is coached by his father Clinton, the former British and European light-welterweight champion.

And his uncle is Duke McKenzie, who remains Britain's only modern three-weight world champion.

McKenzie, who also played for Crystal Palace, Peterborough and Coventry in a 16-year professional career, retired from football in 2011, and has spoken in the past about dealing with depression before taking up his new career.

He has fought seven times as a professional, winning six bouts and drawing once. Stupalo, 24, has lost 10 of his 20 fights.
