Josh Taylor v Jack Catterall rematch is the 'right fight', says Eddie Hearn

A second bout between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall is the "right fight for both fighters", according to promoter Eddie Hearn, with plans for a grudge rematch in 2024.
Taylor won a contentious split decision in February 2022 when the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO super-lightweight belts were on the line.
A scheduled second meeting in March was scuppered by an injury to Taylor.
"They are two guys who cannot stand each other," said Hearn.
Talking to Matchroom Boxing, Hearn, who promotes Catterall, confirmed talks with Taylor's Top Rank representatives will begin soon.
"Josh Taylor is spiteful in and out of the ring, he is fantastic in the build-up and that would bring the best out of Jack Catterall, who is quite quiet and relaxed in general," he added.
"The first fight was extremely controversial, we could do that in Manchester or Glasgow."
Catterall, 30, held on to his British title with a unanimous decision victory over Jorge Linares on Saturday.
Taylor, 32, has fought just once since his first bout with Catterall, losing his WBO crown to Teofimo Lopez in New York in June.
Following the first defeat of his professional career, the Scot talked of of moving up a weight division.
Catterall is in line to face the winner of the December clash between WBC-belt holder Regis Prograis and Devin Haney, but could sidestep a world title shot to settle a score with Taylor.
"Taylor, where are ya? Let's have it," he said during Saturday's ringside interview.
Meanwhile, Taylor was busy on social media, insisting his rival "couldn't finish a roast dinner" after going the distance with Linares.
"I think you've seen with the success of Wood-Warrington, Smith-Eubank, potentially Benn-Eubank as well, the British fights work," said Hearn.
"There is so much bad blood between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall, the build-up is going to be electric. I think it's the right fight for both fighters.
"Every fighter wants to win a world title, Jack arguably should have all of them but he hasn't.
"Outside of a world championship fight, the rematch is one that definitely makes sense."
