Brad Pauls says he is aiming to win back the British middleweight boxing title.

The 32-year-old will fight an as yet unnamed opponent in Bristol on 22 November.

The fight comes 11 months after he lost the title to Denzel Bentley in a showdown at Wembley that was also for the European and WBO International titles.

"I need to be active for my own performance, so I go and get a win in November it puts me in line, hopefully, for a British title shot," Pauls told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"The current champion is George Liddard and he could pick me as a voluntary or we can work our way as mandatory.

"So either way, I think a shot at the British title next year is very much on the cards.

"I love that belt. I'd love to get my British title back, it's the best belt in boxing," he added.

The 'Newquay Bomb' has fought once since his loss to Bentley, beating Panamanian journeyman Omir Rodriguez in Torquay in May.

Pauls has also signed with promotor Frank Warren, a move he hopes will help him return to title fights.

"I'll have some more doors open for me," he said.

"They have access to all the Queensberry shows.

"They have the ability to get me on those shows where before I was sort of out in the cold. I didn't have the access and they just have more opportunity for all different platforms."

Pauls beat Nathan Heaney to the British title in July 2024 having drawn with the Stoke fighter in an epic contest earlier last year.

His first defence was the defeat to Bentley - just the third of his career - and the Cornish fighter says he has learned a lot from the experience.

"I've watched the fight back and wasn't really outclassed or beaten.

"It's just the luck of the draw sometimes in boxing, a certain shot lands in a certain way, I fractured my eye and that sort of lost me the fight - I lost on points.

"The experience at that high level is just going to stand me in good stead for the bigger fights in the future, it's more familiar to me now."
