White helped Notts to Twenty20 finals day last season

Notts director of cricket Mick Newell says he is keen for spinner Graeme White to play a more prominent role in the latter part of the season.

White, 24, has been restricted to three Twenty20 appearances this campaign and one outing in the CB 40.

Newell told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I am very keen to see more of Graeme playing in different types of cricket in the second half of the season.

"He did terrifically well in the Twenty20 last year."

The 24-year-old has taken three wickets in the t20 this season, including 2-26 in Nottinghamshire's 53-run victory over Lancashire at Trent Bridge.

White, who joined Notts from Northants ahead of the 2010 season, is yet to make a Championship appearance in 2011.

He has been a more regular fixture in Nottinghamshire's one-day side since his arrival and took 12 wickets in last season's t20 campaign.

"If Samit Patel is not available for the quarter-final then Graeme will play," added Newell.
