Kent v Sussex - match abandoned because of rain

Kent and Sussex suffered frustration as their FL t20 opener at Canterbury was washed out because of bad weather.

Persistent rain through the day left the outfield and surrounds of the square extremely wet.

The game was abandoned by umpires Rob Bailey and Tim Robinson at 18:45 BST following a couple of insepctions, 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled start.

Tunbridge Wells was the original venue for the game, but it was switched following flash flooding in the area.

Both sides take one point from the game and Sussex will hope to get their campaign under way on Thursday against Hampshire at Hove. Kent's opening game is now on Sunday against Surrey at Beckenham.
