Yorkshire 150-5 beat Derbyshire 109 by 41 runs

Young Yorkshire paceman Moin Ashraf took 4-18 to help the Tykes to their second FL t20 victory at Derby.

Derbyshire then struggled in reply, being bowled out for 109.

Rich Pyrah (3-21) and Ashraf did the damage, Aussie Mitchell Starc also picking up a couple of wickets.

Former Yorkshire spinner David Wainwright had earlier bowled superbly to take 2-14 against his old team.

Captain Gale happy with Yorkshire progress

"There are a few areas which we can improve on but to win by 40-odd runs is a big margin so we're really pleased.

"We have some excellent power hitters in our middle order, in Gary Ballance we had someone who took the game away from Derbyshire.

"I'm happy with where we're at.

"So far so good, but we've been in positions like this before. There's still work to do."
