Sussex 203-5 (17.4 overs) v Hampshire - no result

Sussex's Matt Prior hit 81 off 37 balls but it did not matter as rain ruined his side's T20 match against Hampshire.

The Sharks were on course to register the highest total of this season's FL t20 competition when a heavy downpour forced the game to be abandoned.

Sussex had scored 203-5 off 17.4 overs as Luke Wright also added a rapid 38, with Joe Gatting and Michael Yardy unbeaten on 24 and 12 respectively.

The point apiece means both sides advance into the quarter-finals.

Worcestershire hold the record for the highest total of this season with their effort of 213-2 against Gloucestershire on June 17.

However, Sussex would have had a great chance of beating that score as rain came when they still had 20 balls of their innings remaining.

Danny Briggs took two wickets for Hampshire, with one each for Sean Ervine, Glenn Maxwell and Liam Dawson.

Sussex have also clinched their place at the top of the South Group, ensuring they will play at home in the quarter-finals later this month.
