Devon's MCCA Championship match at Berkshire ended in a draw after the home side batted out the final day at Finchampstead.

David Barnes hit a game-high 146 for Berkshire as they moved to 411-7 when the game was finally called a draw on Tuesday evening.

Matt Jones scored 71 for Berkshire while Ryan Bougourd took 3-86.

The defeat means Devon's hopes of retaining the MCCA Championship title hang in the balance.

They are mid-table with two games to go against second-placed Dorset and fifth-placed Shropshire.

Realistically, Devon need maximum points from both their matches and hope that leaders Cornwall slip up.
