Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove says the team are exceeding his expectations after sealing a place in their third consecutive T20 finals day.

Hants beat Nottinghamshire to set up a semi-final against Somerset.

It means the county are still competing on all three formats as they are in the promotion places in Division Two and top of their CB40 group.

"I'm always proud of the team but nights like that are very special," Bransgrove told BBC Radio Solent.

"It's amazing, fantastic really."

Hampshire's chief also says their achievements this season justify the decision to place so much faith in the young players at the county.

And Bransgrove says that despite their performances to date this year, the county will not get carried away.

"We've got really good players here and we'll take what we get at the end of the season," he said.

"We will keep fighting, as that's the way we are. If we get promotion or if we win a cup or reach a final that's what it's all about and we are doing very well in that respect.

"I don't expect anything more from the team then they are giving me.

"I expected the youth to repay the faith we have shown in them as they are really good young players. We are backing them and that's what we said we would do."
