Kent: James Tredwell relishing captaincy challenge

James Tredwell says his main challenge will be man management after being appointed captain of Kent.
The off-spinner took on the role this week after Rob Key stepped down following seven years leading the side.
The 30-year-old told BBC South East Today: "You've got to react to the situation, on and off the field.
"I guess the biggest challenge will be dealing with people and getting the best out of players. Out on the field will generally take care of itself."
He added: "I like to think I read the game pretty well and my thoughts on tactics are reasonably good.
"You pick things up from different teams you are playing [against] and get experience of how other people do it."
Kent narrowly missed out on promotion to Division One of the County Championship last season and Tredwell, who came through the club's youth ranks and spent his entire playing career with the county, is aiming to mount another challenge.
"I'd like to stamp my way of doing things on the team and instil some of the things I believe in," he said.
"If that's the case I think we'll win games of cricket.
"We were not far away at all from having a very successful year last year.
"We were one step away from getting promotion and that's something we'll look to.
"We've got a nice blend of experience and younger players. We'll look to bring the younger guys through and hopefully the performance can keep improving."
Former Kent captain Matthew Fleming has backed Tredwell to flourish after being chosen to lead the side.
Fleming was skipper of the Canterbury outfit from 1999 until 2001, during which time Tredwell made his one-day and first-class debuts for the club.
"He is a very good cricketer with a very good brain," Fleming told BBC Radio Kent. "I think he'll do a great job.
"The thing that Rob Key did very well was that he was emotionally constant. When the team was down he was a bit more up and when the team were a bit more up he was more considered.
"James Tredwell does the same. He'll bring a consistency of thought and no little talent."
