First Twenty20 international, Sharjah:

Afghanistan 132-7 (20 overs) beat Scotland 105-6 (20 overs) by 27 runs

Scotland have lost the opening Twenty20 match of a series against Afghanistan in Sharjah by 27 runs.

The Afghans batted first and posted a total of 132-7, with Matt Machan collecting three wickets for the Scots.

Scotland could only manage 105-6 in reply, Machan topscoring with an unbeaten 42, with the Scots only managing a run rate of 5.25.

The Scots face Afghanistan in the second Twenty20 match of the tour on Monday, again in Sharjah.
