Stewart Walters (14) and Ben Wright (49) also fell, but Glamorgan responded as North (68) and Goodwin (57) combined to put on 86 for the fourth wicket.

BBC Radio Wales' Edward Bevan:

"Leicester will be disappointed not to have dismissed Glamorgan for around 200 on a green pitch after winning the toss.

"But Glamorgan batsmen Ben Wright (49) and Marcus North (68) will be happy after getting in the runs after struggling with their form. North, in particular, showed great patience during his innings.

"It wasn't all bad news for Leicestershire. Nathan Buck, playing his first game of the season, bowled accurately and rookie fast bowler Olly Freckingham impressed."
