Glamorgan are poised to sign New Zealand all-rounder Nathan McCullum for their Twenty20 campaign, BBC Sport Wales understands.

Off-spinner McCullum, 32, is currently playing for New Zealand in the Champions Trophy.

The Welsh county's previous target, Australian left-arm seamer Dirk Nannes, suffered an injury last month that prevented him joining them.

McCullum's is the older brother of NZ's Champions Trophy skipper Brendon.

Glamorgan's Twenty20 campaign begins on 28 June at Worcestershire.

They hope to improve on disappointing performances in the competition in recent seasons.
