Tim Groenewald and Tony Palladino took five-fors for Derbyshire despite rain and bad light limiting play to just 23 overs on day three against Somerset.
The visitors were dismissed for 216 - 50 runs behind - as Groenewald took 5-30 and Palladino ended with 5-97.
Somerset were 180-6 when play began after tea but offered scant resistance.
And although Steven Kirby dismissed Chesney Hughes and Wayne Madsen as Derbyshire struggled to 36-2, the hosts led by 86 runs at the close of play.
