Lancashire v Glamorgan: Simon Kerrigan shines in draw

Spinner Simon Kerrigan took match figures of 12-252 but Lancashire had to settle for a draw against Glamorgan.
The Division Two leaders resumed on 423-5 and led by 97 when they were all out for 567, Gareth Cross making 64.
Glamorgan in reply stumbled from 88-1 to 98-5 as Kerrigan, who finished with 5-90, took four wickets in 15 balls and the visitors' lead was only five runs.
But opener Gareth Rees (107 not out) and Nathan McCullum (35 not out) saw Glamorgan to safety on 183-5.
After conceding a first-innings deficit, Glamorgan pair Rees and William Bragg (13) pushed the hosts close to parity with an opening stand of 66.
But the game soon changed as Murray Goodwin, who scored 194 in the first innings, could add only 10.
Chris Cooke and Jim Allenby then fell in successive balls to Kerrigan, with Mark Wallace departing soon after and Glamorgan's lead was only 23 at tea with them on 116-5.
Rees and McCullum then put on an unbroken 85 for the sixth wicket as they game petered out and the two captains shook hands on a draw., with Lancashire's seven points taking them eight points clear of second-placed Northants.
Earlier, Lancashire scored 144 runs in 28.4 overs in the first session with Luke Procter (75) adding 22 to his overnight score.
Arron Lilley hit a run-a-ball unbeaten 35, Glen Chapple smashed a six and three fours in making 31 from 28 balls, while McCullum finished with 5-191 for Glamorgan.

"I think Simon Kerrigan is an international bowler of the future without a shadow of a doubt and I think England think that as well.
"He's been groomed in some way to move onto higher things. He's very hungry and very passionate.
"His improvement in his batting and fielding, never mind his bowling, has been significant.
"He's an attacking bowler, an attacking spinner, who has always taken wickets from getting five wickets on his debut."
