Lancashire 127-2 (11 overs) beat Yorkshire 124-8 (20 overs) by eight wickets

Lancashire hammered Yorkshire with nine overs to spare at Old Trafford as they took a huge step towards this year's FLt20 quarter-finals.

Mitchell McClenaghan and Tom Smith took two wickets each as the Tykes managed just 124-8 from their 20 overs.

Smith (42) and Stephen Moore then made short work of it, blasting 88 inside seven overs for the first wicket.

After Smith's exit, Ashwell Prince went second ball, but Moore (66no) saw his side home to an eight-wicket victory.

Moore maintained his fine form in short-form cricket, making his third fifty in this year's competition

Lancashire go top of the North Group with 12 points, ahead of Nottinghamshire, who they play at Trent Bridge on Sunday.

But Notts must first face a match on Friday night at Trent Bridge against Yorkshire, who now look extremely unlikely to qualify for the last eight.
