Women's World Twenty20 2014: England beat NZ in warm-up

England completed their warm-up for the Women's World Twenty20 by bowling out New Zealand for 48 and wrapping up an eight-wicket victory.

Seamer Anya Shrubsole took 4-10 in four overs while Rebecca Grundy (3-14) and Jenny Gunn (2-10) were also in the wickets as only two Kiwi batters reached double figures.

Skipper Charlotte Edwards gave England the perfect start to their chase with 21 off 17 balls before Tammy Beaumont and Lydia Greenway saw them to victory with more than 10 overs to spare.

The victory means England go into their first match of the tournament against West Indies on Monday full of confidence after they also defeated Pakistan in a warm-up game earlier in the week.

Somerset pace bowler Shrubsole, 22, removed both Kiwi openers, including captain Suzie Bates, as she again led the attack well in the absence of the injured Katherine Brunt.

England also face group games against India (26 March), Bangladesh (28 March) and Sri Lanka (30 March).

In Friday's other warm-up games in Savar, Ireland lost to India by 26 runs, West Indies beat Australia by 16 runs and South Africa beat hosts Bangladesh by eight wickets.
