Durham Jets 129-2 (13.2 overs) beat Derbyshire Falcons 125 (19.1 overs) by eight wickets |
Struggling Derbyshire were dismissed for only 125 as Durham cruised to an eight-wicket win in the T20 Blast.
John Hastings ripped through the Falcons' batting line-up with 4-26 as only Alex Hughes (43 not out) helped the visitors to a respectable total.
Paul Collingwood and Ben Stokes also picked up two wickets as Derbyshire were bowled out with five balls left.
Jets opener Phil Mustard then smashed 54 off 27 balls before Ben Stokes (49 not out) ended the game with two sixes.
Teenage debutant Greg Cork, son of former Derbyshire and England seam bowler Dominic, endured mixed fortunes for the Falcons as he struck an important 12 batting at number 10, but was then hit for 34 off his two overs.
The win keeps Durham's hopes of claiming a quarter-final spot alive as they sit two points behind a qualification place in the North Group, while Derbyshire remain bottom with just one win out of nine.
