Lancashire Lightning 164-8 (20 overs) beat Durham Jets 137-7 (20 overs) by 27 runs

Lancashire ensured they would go into the T20 Blast quarter-finals as winners of the North Group with a routine 27-run win over Durham at Old Trafford.

Usman Khawaja (44) and Ashwell Prince (43) put on 84 for the first wicket, while Steven Croft contributed 31, as the hosts made 164-8 in their 20 overs.

Opener Phil Mustard made 49 in Durham's response, but his side struggled to match the required run rate.

Kabir Ali led the bowlers with 3-19 as the visitors could only muster 137-7.

Durham, whose chances of qualification to the quarter-finals were over before the match, remain in seventh place.

Lancashire batsman Usman Khawaja:

"It was my first T20 and it was a lot of fun. It was a bit touch-and-go there after we batted but the boys bowled really well.

"I've watched every single game here and we haven't looked like losing. Some of the games we've been getting 200 easily and that's why I was a bit surprised we only got 160. It was a bit odd.

"There's a really good vibe in the changing room, especially when the T20s come around. We've finished first in the table, we've beaten the best sides and we're very confident."
