One-Day Cup: Graham Wagg sees Glamorgan to win over Surrey

Wagg's late innings helped Glamorgan to a second 50-over win in two days

Glamorgan made it two wins from two in the One-Day Cup, beating Surrey by three wickets at Guildford.

The hosts recovered from 108-5 to reach 307-8 from their 50 overs, helped by a sixth-wicket stand of 114 between Rory Burns (87) and Azhar Mahmood (57).

Will Bragg (88) and Murray Goodwin (74) led Glamorgan's run chase but Stuart Meaker (4-78) took three quick wickets to give Surrey the initiative.

However, Graeme Wagg saw the Welsh side to their target with nine balls left.

Coming in at numbers eight and nine, Wagg (37 not out) and Andrew Salter (16 not out) were unlikely batting heroes for Glamorgan, who won their opening game against Middlesex on Saturday.

Bragg made a late dash to Guildford on the morning of the game to take his place in the Glamorgan side after Jim Allenby was taken ill.

"I got the call about nine o'clock this morning. My phone was dead, but my fiancee received a call from my agent saying Jim Allenby was ill.

"I got here at 11.45. It was a long journey, but worth it in the end.

"One-day cricket is a funny game. It was on a knife edge, but we got over the line. We've been showing a lot of steel all year. Now we're two from two in this competition and looking strong."
