Scotland beat Tasmania by 10 runs in the second match of their World Cup warm-up tour, having been hammered by the same opponents on Tuesday.

After skipper Preston Mommsen lost the toss, Matthew Cross top scored for the Scots with an unbeaten 64 as the tourists made 244-8 in Hobart.

The hosts looked on course as they reached 203-5 with seven overs left.

But Scotland spinner Michael Leask (3-50) took the last three Tasmanian wickets to edge his side to the win.

Coach Grant Bradburn made three changes to his side for Thursday's game as Kyle Coetzer, Rob Taylor and Josh Davey came in, but Coetzer and Calum MacLeod were dismissed with just 20 runs on the board at Anzac Park.

Mommsen (25) and Hamish Gardiner (46) put on 39, and Gardiner then added 61 with Richie Berrington (30) before both fell to leave Scotland 120-5 in the 33rd over.

However, Cross and Rob Taylor (26) added 50 for the eighth wicket to push the score past 200.

Cross reached his half century by pulling a six into the car park in the penultimate over, then hit another maximum before Leask's two boundaries boosted the total.

Seamer Alasdair Evans (3-35) impressed as Scotland managed to keep the hosts in check and when MacLeod caught the impressive Jordan Silk (79) off Josh Davey's delivery, Tasmania had reached 216-7, needing 29 runs from 22 balls.

Leask then finished the job to secure a welcome win for Bradburn's charges, who have five more matches left on their tour.

They face Queensland Academy of Sport 2nd XI next, on 9 October.
