Glamorgan captain Jacques Rudolph scored 38 off 34 balls against Hampshire

Glamorgan captain Jacques Rudolph says his side must improve their batting after suffering a second successive T20 Blast defeat to Hampshire.

Friday's 21-run loss was the Welsh county's second in a week at the Swalec Stadium, after Essex had brushed them aside.

Former South Africa international Rudolph believes he and his fellow batsmen must take responsibility.

"That's an area we need to address," Rudolph said.

"This game and the game against Essex we didn't start well. At Surrey we batted as well as we could have."

Glamorgan opened their T20 campaign with a memorable win against Surrey at the Oval, spearheaded by Colin Ingram's destructive innings of 91 and Rudolph's 62.

But two disappointing batting displays have seen Toby Radford's side slide to back-to-back home defeats against Essex and Hampshire.

There was a glimmer of hope for Glamorgan against Hampshire when Rudolph and Mark Wallace put on a stand of 69 runs, but their dismissals saw the hosts' run-chase deteriorate.

"If we were to go on and win this game, either Wally [Wallace] or myself needed to be there at the end, but we just lost our way quite badly," Rudolph added.

"If we have guys like Wayne Parnell and Andrew Salter batting at eight and nine, those guys are coming in too early.

"If we set a proper platform, those guys will really be effective later on."
