Afridi has scored 2,615 runs and taken 195 wickets for Pakistan in T20 internationals

Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi is to rejoin Northants for Saturday's T20 Blast finals day.

Afridi played six matches in the group stage before a spell in the Caribbean Premier League with St Kitts & Nevis.

The 35-year-old was due to meet up with the Northants squad on Friday after his flight was delayed from Pakistan.

"It's a big stage, he's a big stage player, he's keen to keep himself in the T20 frame and that's his career now," said head coach David Ripley.

In six T20 Blast innings, Afridi scored 93 runs at an average of 31 and took seven wickets at an average of 19.86.

"He was good when he was with us before, he was just growing and playing some of his best cricket," Ripley told BBC Radio Northampton.

"His statistics from when he was with us are very strong, he scored his runs at about 160 and got wickets. He's another match winner that we can put in our line-up.

"He's in the shop window for the Big Bash and other tournaments around the world so he'll be motivated."
