Rob Key struck a century as Kent built a commanding lead against Glamorgan on day two in Cardiff.
Resuming on 65-4, Glamorgan struggled early in the day as Kent quickly reduced them to 101-7.
Graham Wagg's useful 58, which included eight fours and two sixes, helped the hosts to 207 all out.
Former England Test player Key (117no) was supported by Joe Denly (66no) and Daniel Bell-Drummond (54) as Kent closed on 256-1, leading by 358 runs.
The visitors enjoyed a good start to their second innings, with openers Key and Daniel Bell-Drummond putting on 114.
After Bell-Drummond was caught by Colin Ingram at slip off Andrew Salter for 54, Key - who made 94 in the first innings - and Denly pushed on to give the visitors a commanding lead.

Glamorgan all-rounder Graham Wagg told BBC Wales Sport:
"The sun came out and unfortunately the wicket went flat.
"Again, I think we haven't batted as well as we could have. Throughout the summer it's been hard work (batting) with the new ball and I feel for the guys batting at the top order.
"The bowlers kept running in but you've got two very good batsmen out there (Key and Denly) who've played international cricket, and they've showed us how to bat."
