Worcestershire skittled Northants for 148 before building a big lead in their second innings in the County Championship match at Wantage Road.

The hosts resumed day two on 64-3, but lost regular wickets either side of lunch as Joe Leach (5-70) and Matt Henry (3-52) starred with the ball.

Adam Rossington made 55 before he edged New Zealand paceman Henry behind.

Worcestershire closed on 181-4, a lead of 310, with opener Brett D'Oliveira out for 81 shortly before stumps.

The dismissal of D'Oliveira, stumped off Rob Keogh, was followed by Joe Clarke and Tom Kohler-Cadmore both going for nought.

However, Northants, who are without a win in Division Two this season, still face a huge fourth-innings' chase on a turning pitch.

Northants captain Rob Keogh told BBC Radio Northampton:

"We're well behind the game. Being over 100 behind is a huge margin. The pitch was playing like a day three wicket already.

"It's nice to get a couple of wickets, but we now have to bowl well to get back into this.

"Then we have to back our batters to perform in the fourth innings. We'll have to try to chase a score."
