Northamptonshire batsman Ben Duckett has signed a new two-year deal with the County Championship Division Two side.

Duckett, who has been named in England's winter tour squad for Bangladesh, made 1,338 first-class runs this summer at an average of 60.82.

He made two double centuries, including 282 not out against Sussex in April, the highest score of 2016.

Kent-born Duckett, 21, has been nominated both as PCA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.

"It's good to end the speculation about what his next move might be," said Northants head coach David Ripley. "He is loyal and appreciates the experience he has gained here.

"We are all looking forward to watching Ben progress with the England team."
