Glamorgan: Cooke and Lloyd's teams share T20 honours
- Published
Rival teams led by club captain Chris Cooke and deputy David Lloyd shared the honours as Glamorgan began their series of intra-squad warm-up fixtures.
Cooke's side won the opener by four wickets before Lloyd's XI hit back with a seven-wicket victory.
Glamorgan's players will also have a two-day game starting on 23 July and a three-day match beginning on 26 July.
All the matches are behind closed doors in Cardiff, with Glamorgan opting not to face other counties in friendlies.
The captains led the way in the first encounter with Lloyd hitting 73 not out in his team's 166-5, only for Cooke to blast 86 for his line-up to reach 169-6 with three balls to spare, despite three wickets for Ruaidhri Smith.
Younger players took centre stage in the second match as Callum Taylor made an unbeaten 60 in the score of 161-6 posted by the Cooke XI, but Dan Douthwaite smashed 80 not out as Lloyd's XI comfortably won on 167-3 with 10 balls in hand.
Glamorgan are scheduled to begin their campaign of five four-day matches on Saturday, 1 August after the coronavirus pandemic limited the season to two months, though no fixtures have been published yet by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
