Heavy rain made playing conditions hazardous in Hove

Sussex and Glamorgan were frustrated by the weather as their T20 Blast match on Tuesday was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The ground was waterlogged after days of heavy rain in the Hove area, despite the ground staffs' efforts.

Umpires Paul Pollard and Rob Bailey made the call at 17:30 BST, 90 minutes before the scheduled start.

Sussex have nine points from six games after three successive washouts, while Glamorgan have six from seven.

Glamorgan captain Chris Cooke told BBC Sport Wales:

"It's quite wet and dangerous to play so we're bitterly disappointed to come all this way and not have a ball bowled, but it is what it is and we take a point.

"It was a unanimous decision (of umpires and captains), we all felt it was very damp in areas and the risk for injury goes through the roof.

"Everyone's losing games (to the weather) all around the country so we're not the only ones, we got a point from Somerset and a point against a very strong Sussex team, so it's not the end of the world.

"We've all had a really good net, so it's been a little bit worthwhile and we look forward to the game against Gloucestershire on Thursday."
