Eighteen-year-old Belfast schoolgirl Amy Hunter has been awarded the ICC player of the month prize in recognition of her performances on the recent Ireland tour to Zimbabwe.
Her exploits included her first T20 international century in a five-match series between the sides in Harare.
In doing so, she became the first Irish woman to record a ton against a full International Cricket Council member.
Hunter hit an unbeaten 101 off 66 balls to help her side to victory.
The teenager has made history by becoming the only Irish women's cricketer to score an international century in both the ODI and T20 formats.
Ireland had an eight-match tour of Zimbabwe, with three one day internationals and five T20 contests.
They secured a 2-0 series win in the ODIs in Harare, before recording five wins from five in the T20 series.
"To be on a shortlist alongside two of the world's best is something that I am immensely proud of," said Hunter, who beat Australia's Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney to the award.
"It's been an amazing start to the year, with two convincing series wins against Zimbabwe. I am pleased to have been able to contribute to the team's success and hope to continue to do so."
