Former England batter Alex Hales and Afghanistan T20 skipper Rashid Khan are among the players to sign up for the inaugural Scottish Super 10 in Aberdeen in August.
Six men's franchises - Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Perth and Dundee - will meet in 34 Ten10 matches.
Two women's teams will play across the opening weekend of the event.
Each squad will contain 15 players, with up to nine international male players and six Scots.
Hales, one of the game's most destructive limited-overs batters, has experience of franchise cricket in India, Australia, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Rashid's Afghanistan team-mate Rahmanullah Gurbaz will also feature in the tournament along with Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza, Pakistan bowler Naseem Shah and New Zealand batter Finn Allen.
Further recruits for the event - which will be held from 16 to 31 August - will be announced at a press conference planned in Dubai during the last week of April.
"I am looking forward to participating in a European league," said Rashid. "The competition will surely bring great mileage to cricket in Scotland."
