Surrey have signed New Zealand all-rounder Nathan Smith to play in the T20 Blast and County Championship next season.
The 26-year-old made his Test debut for the Kiwis against England last month, scoring 80 runs and taking seven wickets across his first two appearances.
Smith played seven games for Worcestershire in the 2024 season, taking 27 wickets with his pace bowling and scoring 214 runs at an average of 30.5.
He has taken 151 wickets and scored 1,999 runs in 55 first-class matches during his career, and will join up with Surrey in May.
"I have only heard great things about the club, and I look forward to hopefully contributing to continuing the remarkable success the club has had in recent years," Smith told the club's website., external
"I loved my time at Worcestershire last year and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity they gave me to come and play county cricket. I would like to thank all of the amazing people at the club there, it was not an easy decision to not return.
"However, the chance to join one of the best counties in the country was one I couldn't turn down."
Smith began his career in New Zealand, playing for Otago before joining Wellington in 2021 and then moving to Worcestershire this year.
