Somerset all-rounder Kasey Aldridge will join Durham on a three-year deal starting next season.
Aldridge, 24, had a loan spell with Durham during this season's T20 Blast group stages and he will be a permanent member of their squad from 2026 onwards.
He made his debut for Somerset in 2021 and has played 60 games for them across all three formats.
Meanwhile, Archie Bailey is to join Durham on loan for the remainder of their One Day Cup campaign.
Bailey is moving north from Gloucestershire on a permanent three-year contract from 2026.
But the 20-year-old will now be available for the final five games of Durham's group-stage campaign, starting against Middlesex at Banks Homes Riverside on Wednesday.
Aldridge has taken 76 wickets in first-class cricket and scored more than 1,000 runs, with a best of 101 not out.
He was also part of the Somerset side that won the T20 Blast in 2023.
He played eight T20 games for Durham earlier this summer, which included personal-best bowling figures of 5-29 against Nottinghamshire Outlaws.
Durham's director of cricket Marcus North said:, external "At only 24, Kasey has already established great foundations in all formats of his game, and we look forward to nurturing this very exciting talent in his next stage of his career at Durham."
