Kent legend Joe Denly has signed a one-year contract extension to take him into a 20th year with the club.

The former England batter won 15 Test caps and played in 16 one-day internationals for his country.

Denley, 39, is the highest T20 scorer in Kent's history with 4,985 runs.

He has won four trophies with the club including two T20 Blast titles.

Although available across all formats for 2026, Kent say he will mainly feature in the Blast.

"I still feel like I have a lot to give on the field, and we're shaping up nicely going into 2026," Denly told the club's website, external.

"I feel very proud that I'm now going into my 20th season at Kent – I still feel like one of the young ones."

Denly began his career with the county in 2004, winning his first T20 title in 2007 and the County Championship Division Two in 2009, before leaving for Middlesex in 2012.

He returned to Canterbury in 2015 and was part of the side which won County Championship Division Three and the T20 Blast in 2021.

Denly has also played in the Bangladesh Premier League, Australia's Big Bash League, the Pakistan Super League and the Indian Premier League.

In total he has played 298 T20 matches in which he has scored 7,107 runs at an average of 27.02 and taken 53 wickets as a spin bowler.
