Jersey ensured top spot in ICC Challenge League A after a 52-run win over Denmark in Kenya.
Batting first at Nairobi’s Ruaraka Sports Club, the islanders’ batters hit 283-8 as Josh Lawrenson scored 93 while Zak Tribe hit 65 not out.
In reply, Denmark were bowled out for 241 in 44.1 overs as Lawrenson took 3-45.
The win was Jersey’s fourth in a row in Kenya after losing their opener to the hosts 10 days ago.
The event is the first of three over the next three years between six sides, with the top two progressing to the next stage of qualifying for the 2027 Cricket World Cup.
Jersey have also beaten Kuwait, Qatar and Papua New Guinea in Kenya and have aspirations to host the 2025 edition when the six sides will next play one another.
The islanders' top order impressed after debutant Stan Norman went early for 4. Harrison Carlyon and Lawrenson put on 89 for the second wicket before Carlyon was caught for 59.
Glamorgan’s Asa Tribe helped put on another 93 runs before Lawrenson was caught for a 119-ball 93 to leave Jersey on 191-3 off 38.3 overs.
Tribe went on to make 43 off 42 balls before his brother Zak maintained his fine form at the tournament with two sixes and five fours in a 42-ball, unbeaten 65 as Jersey ended on 283-8.
In reply Kenya lost three wickets for four runs as they fell from 99-1 to 103-4 after 25 overs, skipper Hamid Shah scoring 54 from 69 balls.
Denmark were never able to keep pace with Jersey’s run-rate despite four players hitting 20 or more.
Nicolaj Laegsgaard managed 32 before becoming one of two victims for Tribe (2-51) as the Danes fell well short of their target.
