Somerset all-rounder Ben Green has extended his loan spell with Leicestershire for two further County Championship matches.

Green has been an ever-present for Leicestershire in first-class cricket this season, scoring 283 runs and taking 29 wickets for the Division Two leaders.

The 27-year-old re-joined the Foxes on loan at the start of the season for the opening seven rounds of Championship fixtures, after he played six matches for the club last year.

He then returned for their last two red-ball fixtures in June, in between playing all 14 of Somerset's T20 Blast group stage fixtures.

Green is the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the Championship's second tier and registered his maiden first-class five-wicket haul during the Foxes' win over Gloucestershire in April.

Ian Holland also returns to the Leicestershire red-ball attack after missing June's draw with Glamorgan and defeat by Middlesex while on duty with Major League Cricket side Washington Freedom.

The Foxes hold a 31-point lead in Division Two and return to four-day action on Tuesday away to Derbyshire, with a trip to Kent the following week before the start of the One-Day Cup.
