Worcestershire sign spinner Hinley for 2025

Worcestershire have signed spin bowler Tom Hinley for the 2025 season on a one-year deal.

The 21-year-old signed a short-term contract, external with the first team earlier this year after impressing with the second XI squad, having previously been released by Sussex two years ago.

He played in all nine of the Pears' One-Day Cup matches, taking 13 wickets.

"Delighted for Tom to be given this rookie contract and he certainly showed his potential in the One Day Cup," Worcestershire head coach Alan Richardson said, external.

"Lots of players go away from the professional game for a while and then strive to return and we wish Tom all the best with achieving his goals.

"He is very hungry to succeed and look forward to him being involved with us."

Worcestershire visit Hampshire in the County Championship on Tuesday, 17 September.
