Mandla Mashimbyi has been appointed head coach of South Africa women's side before their one-day international series against England.

Mashimbyi, who previously enjoyed spells as bowling and assistant coach with the men's national team, replaces Dillon du Preez, who had been in interim charge since Hilton Moreeng left in May after more than 11 years in the role.

The former Titans fast bowler's first match in charge will be the first ODI against England at Kimberley on 4 December, with games in Durban and Potchefstroom to follow.

Mashimbyi has a number of years of coaching experience, including winning multiple championships with Titans, and was recently the fast-bowling coach for Paarl Royals in the SA20 franchise league.

Test Match Special has live commentary of England's tour of South Africa, including Saturday's third T20 at Centurion (16:00 GMT).
