Sussex sign Kent batter Leaning on three-year deal

Jack Leaning spent six seasons playing for Kent and won the 2021 T20 Blast title with the club

Sussex have signed batter Jack Leaning from Kent on a three-year contract.

The 32-year-old scored 5,411 runs across all formats for Kent after joining the club from Yorkshire in 2020.

He was part of the side that won the T20 Blast title in 2021and scored 1,167 runs in T20 competition for the club.

"I'm buzzing to be honest. It's something that wasn't necessarily on the radar a short while ago, but now it's come up I'm really excited," he told the Sussex website, external.

"It's [Sussex] obviously a club that is doing really well at the moment, certainly on the way up, and I'm really looking forward to being back in Division One as well."

Leaning made 63 first-class appearances for Kent and scored 3,322 runs at an average of 33.89.

He also averaged 43.90 in List A with 922 runs scored in 27 matches.
