South Africa batter Matthew Breetzke has signed a two-year, all formats contract with Northamptonshire.
The 26-year-old, who first played for the club last summer, has scored 403 runs in this season's T20 Blast and will return for the quarter-final against Surrey on 3 September.
Breetzke has appeared in two Tests, three one-dayers and 10 T20 internationals for The Proteas.
"Matt is an extremely talented young man who has so much quality with the bat and in the field," said Northants head coach Darren Lehmann, external.
"He adds so much to the team and we can't wait to see more of him over the next couple of seasons."
Northants won the T20 Blast in 2013 and 2016 and are hoping to reach Finals Day for the first time since then.
"I'm delighted to sign with Northamptonshire for two more seasons." Breetzke said.
"We have a big quarter-final at The Oval coming up and I can't wait to get out there and push to make Finals Day."
