    Royal Challengers Bengaluru sealed a place in the Indian Premier League final, thrashing Punjab Kings by eight wickets in New Chandigarh.

    Kings batted dismally and were bowled out for 101 in 14.1 overs, and RCB chased down their low target with 10 overs to spare.

    Spinner Suyash Sharma and seamer Josh Hazlewood took three wickets apiece, while opener Phil Salt struck an unbeaten 56 from 27 balls.

    RCB will now progress directly to Tuesday's final, while Kings will play the winners of Friday's match between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians, with the victors taking the other place in the title decider.

    Punjab Kings have been bowled out for 101 in their Indian Premier League play-off match with Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

    The regular season leaders were dismissed in 14.1 overs, with Afghanistan's Azmatullah the last man to fall, caught impressively by wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma off the bowling of Josh Hazlewood.

    Australian seamer Hazlewood finished with figures of 3-21, while Suyash Sharma took 3-17 and Yash Dayal closed with 2-26.

    Marcus Stoinis top-scored with 26 for Kings, while Azmatullah and Prabhsimran Singh (both 18) were the only other batters to make it out of single figures.

    Table toppers Punjab Kings have slipped to 50-5 after 6.3 overs of their Indian Premier League play-off with Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

    Josh Hazlewood and Yash Dayal have taken two wickets apiece, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar one, with Priyansh Arya, Josh Inglis, Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadhera all falling for single figures and only Prabhsimran Singh (18) making it into the teens.

    Australian Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh are now at the crease for Kings as they try to scrape together a defendable target.

    Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and chose to bowl against Punjab Kings in the first play-off match of the 2025 Indian Premier League season.

    Kings finished first in the regular season with RCB one place behind them, and the two teams now play in New Chandigarh for a place in Sunday's final.

    The losers will play the winners of Friday's game between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians, with the victors in that fixture taking the second place in the final.
