Jack Jarvis played club cricket for Redland Tigers in Queensland over the last Scottish winter, and doesn't look overawed against Australia's best, and hit a big six a couple of overs ago.

Mark Watt goes one better though, depositing Sean Abbott over the sightscreen and towards Inverleith Park.

  2. 6 runs

    SCO 136-6published at 17.2 overs

Sean Abbott is back on for a spell and Mark Watt immediately sends it back over his head and into neighbouring Inverleith Park.

Abbott responds by bouncing one into the turf which Watt swats down into the ground for a single. A bit of fire between bat and ball.

  3. Not outpublished at 16.6 overs

    SCO 130-6

Mark Watt digs one out to short third and Scotland go for the quick single. It's a direct hit from Riley Meredith but the umpire isn't moved.

A lucky one for Jack Jarvis, and another superb bit of fielding from Meredith.

There's plenty of tasty food offerings at the Grange today, with the venison and mac and cheese pies particularly tempting.

The queue for liquid refreshments next door was a fair bit longer though.

    SCO 124-6published at 15.5 overs

Jack Jarvis is on to face Adam Zampa. He goes big on the third ball, and it's well over the stand.

That is a monster from Jarvis and it gets the crowd back on their feet.

  6. wicket

WICKET Leask lbw Zampa 7published at 15.1 overs

    Sco 117-6

That's the last thing Scotland needed. Down on one knee, he tries to sweep it away but Adam Zampa traps him.

The finger goes up and Leask stands, legs stuck in the concrete, in disbelief. Off he goes, and with him, Scotland's hopes of setting a defendable total.

  7. SCO 117-5published at 14.6 overs

Michael Leask sweeps Cam Green round the corner. It's a brilliant shot which looks destined to bounce over the boundary rope.

But wait - there's Riley Meredith. He grabs it one handed and tosses it to Sean Abbott. A wondrous bit of fielding, but the Aussies in the crowd still aren't impressed.

"You made that harder than it looked!"

  8. wicket

WICKET Cross c Bartlett b Green 27published at 14.1 overs

    Sco 113-5

On the first ball of Cam Green's new over, Cross tries to hook away a short ball and directs it straight into the mitts of Xavier Bartlett.

Mark Watt is on, but really Scotland need Michael Leask on strike and they need him to go big.

  9. SCO 113-4published at 13.6 overs

It's a quiet couple of overs for Scotland - maybe not what they needed. They just couldn't get Marcus Stoinis away.

  10. SCO 110-4published at 13.2 overs

Marcus Stoinis comes on from a different end, moving his fielders around like a policeman directing traffic.

He pitches it short but Michael Leask mistimes his shot, and it's just a single.

  11. SCO 108-4published at 12.6 overs

Riley Meredith is back on for a spell from the pavilion end, facing Michael Leask who is the new Scotland batter.

Scotland will need a big few overs quickly if they are to set a decent target.

As if he's listening, Matthew Cross drives the final ball of the over for four.

  12. wicket

WICKET Berrington c Bartlett b Zampa 23published at 11.5 overs

    Scotland 101-4

Pitch it up, he does. He tempts Richie Berrington into a high cover drive, which the skipper mistimes.

Two Australian fielders are underneath it on the boundary rope, and Xavier Bartlett snaffles up.

    Big loss for Scotland.

  13. SCO 96-3published at 11.4 overs

Adam Zampa is back on. Matthew Cross is facing, and is down on one knee to sweep around the corner for a tidy four.

Two balls later, Richie Berrington nails away for another four on the leg side.

"Tell him to pitch it up," shouts an Australia fan.

  14. SCO 91-3published at 10.5 overs

Richie Berrington has a big swipe at a Cam Green bouncer and it tempts Sean Abbott on the boundary, but it bounces just short.

If I'm being harsh, he could have gone for the catch. To make matters worse, the bounce spins away from him and goes for four.

  15. SCO 86-3published at 10.1 overs

Richie Berrington chips it high into the air, with Tim David underneath it...

But he's lost it in the blue sky, and it's an awkward drop. A real let off for the Scotland skipper there.

  16. SCO 84-3published at 10 overs

    Tidy stuff from Australia's leggie.

Scotland are 84-3 at the halfway point, with Matthew Cross on 10 and Berrington on 16.

It'll be Andrew Petrie and his moustache to take you through the next 10 overs.

  17. SCO 81-3published at 9 overs

A couple more singles end the Stoinis over.

    It'll be Zampa to continue.

  18. SCO 78-3published at 8.4 overs

Marcus Stoinis is on for Australia, and starts tidily enough with a couple of singles and then a wide.

  19. SCO 70-3published at 14:38 British Summer Time 4 September

    Andrew Petrie
BBC Sport Scotland at The Grange

Here's the Australian fan who just took that catch - drenched in the beer of his mates.

They couldn't believe their eyes - apparently he plays 3s! Fair play to him, he never looked like dropping it.

  20. 6 runs

SCO 70-3published at 14:35 British Summer Time 4 September

Matt Cross takes one out to the cover sweeper, before Zampa tosses one up to Richie Berrington.

The Scotland skipper launches it over extra cover for six, where it's well taken by a spectator.
