    Punjab Kings made it two wins from two in the Indian Premier League as they beat Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets.

    Prabhsimran Singh struck 69 from 34 and captain Shreyas Iyer hit an unbeaten 52 off 30 as Kings chased down their target of 172 in the 17th over.

    Having won the toss, Iyer put Super Giants into bat, reducing the home side to 35-3 in the fifth over with Mitchell Marsh dismissed for a golden duck, caught by Marco Jansen off the bowling of Arshdeep Singh.

    Ayush Badoni anchored his side's rebuild, adding 54 with Nicholas Pooran, who top-scored with 44, then 30 with David Miller and 47 with Abdul Samad.

    Both Badoni and Samad fell to Arshdeep within three balls in the final over, the seamer finishing with figures of 3-43 in Super Giants' innings of 171-7.

    Kings lost Priyansh Arya for eight in their reply, but Prabhsimran struck nine fours and three sixes at a strike rate over 200 before being caught by Ravi Bishnoi with a smart relay catch on the boundary.

    The wicket left the visitors 110-2 just after the halfway stage and Iyer pushed on alongside Nehal Wadhera (43 not out from 25) to secure the win, with his fourth six simultaneously ending the match and bringing up his half century.

    Kings move up to second in the table, while Lucknow slip three places to sixth after winning one of their three games.

    Punjab Kings have reached 110-1 at the halfway stage of their innings as they chase 172 against Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League.

    • Kings lost Priyansh Arya in the third over, caught by Shardul Thakur off the bowling of Digvesh Singh Rathi to leave his side 26-1.
    • Prabhsimran Singh pushed on alongside captain Shreyas Iyer, adding an unbeaten 84 for the second wicket.
    • Prabhsimran has reached 69 from 33, striking nine fours and three sixes at a strike rate of over 200.

    Ayush Badoni anchored the back half of the Lucknow Super Giants innings as his side finished the innings on 171-7 against Punjab Kings.

    • Having seen Nicholas Pooran caught by Glenn Maxwell off the bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal, Badoni added 30 with David Miller and 47 with Abdul Samad.
    • But both batters fell within the space of three balls in Arshdeep Singh's final over, with Badoni caught for 41 by Maxwell and Samad snaffled for 27 off 12 by Priyansh Arya.
    • Punjab Kings will now chase 172 as they look for back to back wins to start their Indian Premier League campaign.

    Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni have put on 53 for the fourth wicket as Lucknow Super Giants rebuild their innings against Punjab Kings.

    • Having been put into bat, Lucknow's Mitchell Marsh skewed Arshdeep Singh's first ball of the innings into the air behind the wicket, with Marco Jansen taking the catch to send the opener on his way for a duck,
    • Aiden Markram fell for 28, bowled by Lockie Ferguson, and Rishabh Pant was walking back to the dug-out shortly afterwards when he was caught by Yuzvendra Chahal off the bowling of Glenn Maxwell.
    • Pooran and Badoni have rebuilt for 35-3 in the fifth over, reaching 88-3 at the end of the 11th over.

    Punjab Kings will look to start the 2025 Indian Premier League with back-to-back wins as they visit Lucknow Super Giants.

    Shreyas Iyer's side won their sole assignment thus far, beating Gujarat Titans by 11 runs of Tuesday.

    Their opponents have one win and one loss from their two matches, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad after losing a tight opening fixture with Delhi Capitals by one wicket.

    Iyer has won the toss and his side are having a bowl in the first fixture at this stadium in this year's competition.

    LSG are unchanged, while Lockie Ferguson has been brought into the PK line-up.
