  1. Ind 20-1published at 4 overs

    Target 339

The off side is packed for Smriti Mandhana. Australia know how strong she is through that region.

There is a deep cover in place for when she does manage to pierce the in-field but it takes until the penultimate ball of Kim Garth's over for her to manage that.

A play and a miss came prior to that with Garth getting the ball to do just enough to keep the India batters honest.

  2. Ind 18-1published at 3 overs

    Target 339

Jemimah Rodrigues gets off the mark with a firm punch through the covers for two but it's a tidy over from Megan Schutt.

    Just three from it.

  3. Ind 15-1published at 2 overs

    Target 339

Jemimah Rodrigues comes in at three for India.

An early wicket is far from ideal for them but Australia also lost an opener in the first few overs so it's far from terminal to their chances.

Australia can really ramp up the pressure with another wicket, though.

Australia will be relaxed with Shafali Verma back in the dugout.

When you're bowling at her, you know your bad balls are going to be taken the boundary. You've got to weather the storm.

It was an eventful innings from Shafali Verma but hands on the heads of the India supporters in the crowd.

Australia have got a what could have been a dangerous batter out.

    Verma lbw b Garth 10 (Ind 13-1)

    Gone, crashing into leg stump!

Strong start but Kim Garth adjusted and after a couple of out-swingers just outside off, this one is straighter and nips back targeting the pegs.

It catches Shafali Verma out, hits her plumb in front and she has to trudge off, taking a review with her.

My thought is... that is a bad review.

    Ind 13-0

    Gone next ball?!

Kim Garth pins Shafali Verma in front and that looked a good shout. Sue Redfearn raises her finger.

The only hope for India is that it is sliding down leg. I'm not so sure...

It was aerial but it was struck so powerfully. This is what Shafali Verma does. The benefit of batting second on this surface is they know there aren't any demons on this pitch, so it's easy to punish the bowler.

  11. Ind 13-0published at 1.2 overs

    Target 339

    Save your legs, Shafali!

Away swing for Kim Garth but Shafali Verma takes a step down the track and hammers the ball over cover for four.

  12. Ind 8-0published at 1 over

    Target 339

India's openers are both safely up and running with singles off before Shafali Verma capitalises on a wayward delivery from Megan Schutt.

Swinging onto the pads and Verma flicks it away down to the fine-leg boundary.

The way Shafali Verma plays the game... she's best when she doesn't use her brain. Just see ball, hit ball.

It's good for India to have her upfront.

Megan Schutt will bowl the first over for Australia.

Shafali Verma, drafted in after the injury to Pratika Rawal, will face up to the first ball. Smriti Mandhana is at the non-striker's end.

However you look at it, we should have an entertaining chase ahead of us.

India will have to play their shots, the pitch is a good one and there is a place in the World Cup final up for grabs.

How will it go? We're about to find out as the players make their way to the middle.

Australia have been surprisingly poor at the "death" and have not fully capitalised on Lichtfield's innings. A glimmer of hope for India.

It is certainly going to take a huge effort from India - a record-breaking effort, no less.

But there is another way of looking at that Australia innings...

However you dress this up the Aussies have really hammered the Indian bowlers. It will take a lot for India to pick themselves up after that to have any chance.

India fought back well after Litchfield was dismissed but Ash Gardner gave Australia a late boost with some big hitting on her way to 63 from 45 balls.

She may have done more damage had either she or Kim Garth realised there was a chance to sacrifice the latter when they both ended up mid-pitch with a run out guaranteed.

Instead, Gardner had to go and it probably saved India a few runs...

Let's have a look back at Phoebe Litchfield's ton then, shall we?

It's certainly well worth a look with a whole host of gorgeous shots through the off side...
