  1. New Zealand reviewpublished at 01:09 GMT 1 November

Jamie Smith may be in trouble. He's had a waft and New Zealand appear confident he has nicked this despite the umpire being unmoved.

  2. Eng 7-0published at 1.1 overs

It appears Jamie Smith is not going to back down. He cracks Zak Foulkes' first ball over mid-wicket for the first four.

  3. Eng 3-0published at 1 over

We're at the Wellington Cake Tin for this one, the rugby and football stadium officially known as the Sky Stadium these days. This is where Brendon McCullum, now England coach, inflicted a humiliating win on Eoin Morgan's men during the 2015 World Cup.

It also means very short square boundaries and a faint hint of a centre circle around the cut strip.

Duckett gets through the first over.

Happy Halloween by the way. It's not everyone's bag but we'll get into the spirit by asking for some of your Halloween cricketers.

To illustrate the point here's an archive picture of former England captain Michael Atherton, a Manchester United fan, dressed up as a red devil in 1990.

However, let's kick off with a pun: Sourav Gan-Ghouly.

  5. Eng 1-0published at 0.2 overs

Jamie Smith's heart must have just sunk a little as Jacob Duffy hoops the first ball past his edge. There's no nick but things look like they may be tricky.

A sliced drive gets him off the mark next ball.

  6. Is England's Ashes prep enough?published at 00:57 GMT 1 November

This match is England's last full fixture before the Ashes begins this month. They have one warm-up match against the Lions before that.

Earlier this week I chatted to ECB performance director Ed Barney, who defended England's Ashes prep.

"We are confident in the set-up, the approach, the time the team have got together, the ability we have had to provide a set of different preparations that are optimal for different players."

England captain Harry Brook: "I would like to win a toss at some point but we will go out and play with freedom, with a smile on our face.

"We haven't quite got the runs we would like but we will go out and try and play with freedom and enjoy ourselves.

"It is about going out and having a bit of presence with our batting and trying to put them under as much pressure as possible."

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner: "It obviously looks like a good wicket. There's a bit of grass on. A bit soft. We will try to make some inroads.

"Kane [Williamson] has a little niggle in his groin so Conway comes in.

"You see guys coming in and stepping up straight away. It is a great place to be. We have a pretty good group at the moment."

  9. New Zealand win the toss and bowlpublished at 00:49 GMT 1 November
    Breaking

There will be no respite for England's batters in Wellington.

New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner has won his third toss in the series and, once again, has put England straight into bat.

    England are unchanged.

Good evening. Tucking into the left over Halloween sweets to get you through? I see you.

England's ODI series in New Zealand has not gone to plan so far. Two defeats. Two poor batting performances.

The series has gone but this match remains just as important. Form needs to be found and any wins are important for World Cup qualification given their current predicaments on that front.
