They scored 57 from the last five overs but left themselves too much to do after Mumbai's bowlers showed excellent control including a powerplay of just 46-0, with the usually destructive Travis Head making 28 from 29.

Mumbai lost six wickets in their chase, including two falling with just one run required, but had plenty of partnerships throughout to reach their target with 11 balls to spare.

England all-rounder Will Jacks top scored with 36 having also taken 2-14 in Sunrisers' innings.

    • Mumbai bowled smartly in the middle overs with two wickets for England all-rounder Will Jacks and one apiece for Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult and Pandya.
    • Opener Travis Head got a reprieve from a Pandya no-ball on 24 but couldn't capitalise - he fell for 28 from 29 balls.
    • Heinrich Klaasen made a stuttering 37 from 28, but Aniket Verma's unbeaten 18 from eight balls added some much-needed impetus at the death.

    • Hardik also had Head caught at deep mid-wicket for a run-a-ball 24 in the 10th over, as the Australian struggled for fluency, but it was called a no-ball.
