    Mitchell Starc took his first five-wicket haul in T20 cricket as Delhi Capitals cruised to a seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

    The 35-year-old Australia left-arm quick claimed 5-35 as Sunrisers were bowled out for 163 after their skipper Pat Cummins had won the toss and batted first.

    Aniket Verma hit 74 off 41 balls and was one of only three Sunrisers batters to make it into three figures as Starc and Kuldeep Yadav, who finished with 3-22, did the damage.

    Faf du Plessis hammered 50 off 27 balls as he and Jake Fraser-McGurk put on 81 for the first wicket to give the Capitals a solid foundation in the chase.

    Sunrisers spinner Zeeshan Ansari dismissed both players on his IPL debut to put the brakes on with 3-42.

    However, Abishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs finished unbeaten on 34 and 21 respectively as they got Delhi over the line with 30 balls to spare.

    The Capitals have started this year's IPL with victories in both of their opening two matches.

    • Openers Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk laid a solid foundation for the Delhi Capitals as they bid to chase down 164 for victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
    • Du Plessis made a half-century off just 26 balls, including three fours and three sixes, as he and Fraser-McGurk put on 81 for the first wicket.
    • Veteran batter Du Plessis was dismissed a ball after reaching his fifty, unable to resist a flighted delivery from Zeeshan Ansari which he skied and Wiaan Mulder made up good ground to take the catch.
    • Fraser-McGurk fell for 38 just before the 10th over with the score on 96-2 after he gave Zeeshan a simple return catch.
    • Sunrisers have fielded poorly and rue dropped two catches with Aniket Verma and Pat Cummins both spilling chances off Fraser-McGurk.

    • Superb diving catches from Axar Patel and Faf du Plessis helped experienced Aussie left-arm quick Starc finish with impressive figures of 5-35.
    • Aniket Verma's maiden IPL half-century gave the Sunrisers total some respectability.
    • Aniket hit 74 off 41 balls, including five fours and six sixes, but was out when he clubbed Kuldeep Yadav to deep mid-wicket where Jack Fraser-McGurk pouched a fine take.
    • Kuldeep took 3-22 as only three SRH batters made it into double figures.
    • Big-hitting Sunrisers batter Heinrich Klaasen whacked 32 off 19 balls before he was brilliantly caught by Vipraj Nigam after skying a delivery from Mohit Sharma.

    • Sunrisers Hyderabad recover from 37-4 to reach 105-4 in the 10th over of their innings after Delhi Capitals left-arm quick Mitchell Starc claimed 3-33 from his opening three overs.
    • Aniket Verma and Heinrich Klaasen have rebuilt with a counterattacking fifth-wicket stand.
    • Starc dismissed Australia leam-mate Travis Head for a 12-ball 22 in the fifth over when the Sunrisers opening batter gloved one behind attempting to guide the ball to third.
    • Earlier, Starc bagged the wickets of Ishan Kishan and Nitish Kumar Reddy, with both Sunrisers batters out caught for single-figure scores attempting to hit play big shots.
    • Opening batter Abhishek Sharma was ran out by Vipraj Nigam for one in the first over.
    • Sunrisers captain Pat Cummins won toss and decided to bat first.
