BDO World Championships: Martin Adams pleased after victory

Martin Adams was pleased to come through a tough opening examination in his quest for a fourth BDO World Championship title.
The 58-year-old, who last won at Lakeside in 2011, beat Jan Dekker of the Netherlands 3-1 in the first round on Saturday.
Adams, who avenged last year's quarter-final defeat by Dekker, told BBC Sport: "They're all hard games.
"They're all tough opponents who have got here on merit one way or another."
Number three seed Adams continued: "Jan missed out on a seeding place this year and he's not alone in that. They're all tough games, whoever you get.
"You just take each game as it comes. That's the way I do it.
"I haven't looked at the draw and I couldn't tell you who my next opponent might be. I just focus on that one game. I'm through and I'm happy."
Adams, making his 22nd consecutive World Championship appearance, scored well early on and took the first set with a 12-dart leg.
But Dekker, twice a World Championship semi-finalist, responded to level the match and should have gone 2-1 ahead in sets.
However, the 24-year-old missed six darts at a double to go in front and Adams took advantage, using his many years of experience to secure victory.
"He gave me that little bit of a chance," said Adams.
"I've never seen Jan miss so many darts at double before. That's pressure, that's what causes it. He gave me the chance and I didn't look back from there.
"The preparation to get here has been good and this is what I work towards."
