Cullen thwarts Price bid for second successive title in Germany

Gerwyn Price was denied back-to-back titles in Germany as Joe Cullen claimed victory in Players Championship 27 final.

Welshman Price had won Players Championship 26 on Tuesday with an 8-5 win over Gian van Veen.

But 24 hours later Cullen edged out Price 8-7 in a thrilling last-leg shoot-out to triumph in Hildesheim, as the Welshman fell just short

Despite defeat to Cullen, Price extended his lead at the top of the Players Championship rankings.
