Paralympics 2012: Great Britain athletes on Day Eight

Hannah Cockroft celebrates adding the 200m T34 title to her 100m gold.

A sport-by-sport round-up of how ParalympicsGB athletes perform on Day Eight of the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

ATHLETICS

Stef Reid finishes fourth in the final of thewomen's T44 200m with a personal best of 28.62 seconds. Team-mate Sophie Kamlish also achieves a personal best with a time of 29.08 seconds, finishing sixth.

BRONZE MEDAL - Ola Abidogun wins bronze in his first Paralympic final in the T46 men's 100m with a time of 11.23 seconds.

Olivia Breen finishes eighth in the T38 women's 200m final with a time of 30.22 seconds.

GOLD MEDAL - Hannah Cockroft sets a new Paralympic record of 31.90 seconds to win the T34 women's 200m. Team-mate Mel Nichols comes seventh with a time of 40.00 seconds.

BRONZE MEDAL - Paul Blake clinches bronze with a time of 2:08.24 in the final of the men's 800m T36.

BRONZE MEDAL - Ben Rushgrove takes bronze in the men's 200m T36 in a personal best time of 24.83 seconds with team-mate Graeme Ballard finishing fourth in a time of 25.20 seconds.

BRONZE MEDAL - Bev Jones wins bronze in the F37 women's discus throw with a season's-best mark of 30.99m.

Shelly Woods qualifies for the T54 women's 1500m after winning her heat with a time of 3:42.12. Team-mate Jade Jones also qualifies with a time of 3:32.60.

European Champion Libby Clegg runs a personal best time of 25.10 but fails to qualify for the final of the T12 women's 200m.

Gemma Prescott finishes 13th with a best distance of 4.19 metres in the final of the women's shot put F32/33/34.

GOLD MEDAL - David Weir wins his third gold of the games in the men's 800m T54, holding off Switzerland's Marcel Hug and China's Zhang Lixin to win in a time of 1:37.63 seconds.

GOLD MEDAL - Jonnie Peacock wins in the men's 100m T44, setting a Paralympic record of 10.9 seconds.

SILVER MEDAL - Daniel Greaves throws a season's best 59.01m to finish second in the men's discus F44.

BOCCIA

Nigel Murray is through to the quarter finals of the BC2 - mixed individual Boccia after defeating Japan's Takayuki Hirose 8-0. Brothers Stephen Mcguire and Peter Mcguire are also in quarter final action this afternoon in the BC4 mixed individual competition after winning their respective 1/8 finals, Peter faces Jose Dirceu Pinto of Brazil and Stephen is up against Radek Prochazha of the Czech Republic. In the BC3 both Scott McCowan and Jacob Thomas fail to reach the quarter finals after losing their 1/8 finals.

CYCLING

GOLD MEDAL - SARAH STOREY wins gold in the C4-5 road race and equals Tanni Grey-Thompson's record of 11 gold medals.

Disappointment for Shaun McKeown and Mark Colbourne in the C1-C3 men's individual road race as they finished well out of the medal places with times of 1:43.52 and 1:53.22 respectively.

Jon-Allan Butterworth has failed to finish his C4-5 road race, withdrawing after four laps. He had sustained an injury in training on Tuesday that also hampered his performance in Wednesday's time trial.

FOOTBALL

Paralympics GB lose their final men's five-a-side game against China. They drew the game 1-1 in normal time but lost the penalty shootout 2-1.

SAILING

ParalympicsGB have won their first ever medals in sailing. The final races in the three classes were postponed due to a lack of wind at Weymouth which means that the final positions after race 10 decide the medal places.

GOLD MEDAL - Helena Lucas wins gold in the 2.4MR one-person keelboat.

BRONZE MEDAL - Niki Birrell and Alexandra Rickham take bronze in the SKUD 18 two-person keelboat class. The Sonar three-person keelboat team of John Robertson, Stephen Thomas and Hannah Stodel miss out on a medal after receiving a four-point penalty in yesterday's race.

SHOOTING

Karen Butler fails to finish in the medals as she comes sixth overall in the SH1 women's R8-50m rifle 3 positions.

SITTING VOLLEYBALL

Paralympics GB Women lose to Japan 3-0 in their final match and are now out of the competition. The men's team lose their classification match 3-0 to Brazil.

SWIMMING

Andrew Mullen comes fourth in the final of the men's 50m backstroke S5 with the 15-year-old recording a time of 39.54 seconds.Team-mate Anthony Stephens' earlier failed to make the final.

SILVER MEDAL - Heather Frederiksen, who won gold in the women's 100m backstroke, wins silver in the S8 100m freestyle with a time of 1:08.07. It is ParalympicsGB's 103rd medal of the games, beating their Beijing total. Emma Hollis had earlier failed to qualify for the final.

Thomas Young (1:00.53) and Sean Fraser (1:00.58)finish sixth and seventh respectively in the final of the men's 100m freestyle. Sam Hynd had earlier failed to qualify.

Aaron Moores finishes in sixth place in the SB14 men's 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:10.46. Team-mate and world champion Dan Pepper finishes seventh with a time of 1:12.64.

BRONZE MEDAL - Susie Rodgers breaks the European record she set in the heats to take bronze, ParalympicsGB's 100th medal of the games, in the women's 400m freestyle S7 with a time of 5:18.93.

GOLD MEDAL - 15-year-old Josef Craig smashes the world record he set in the heats to win the S7 men's 400m freestyle final in a time of 4:42.81. Former world record holder Jonathan Fox finishes fourth with a time of 4:48.03.

SILVER & BRONZE MEDAL - Stephanie Millward grabs silver in the women's SM9 200m individual medley in a time of 2:26.21 with Louise Watkin finishing with bronze in 2:37.79. Claire Cashmore comes fourth in a time of 2:38.08.

James Crisp comes fifth in the final of the men's 200m individual medley SM9 in a time of 2:21.10.

Despite finishing second in her heat, Natalie Massey fails to qualify for the final of the SB14 women's 100m breaststroke. Her time of 1:26 leaves her outside the qualification places.

Robert Welbourn and Graham Edmunds fail to qualify for the S10 men's 100m freestyle final after finishing outside the qualifying positions in their respective heats.

Gemma Almond fails to qualify for the final of the S10 women's 100m freestyle, recording a time of 1:07.40.

TABLE TENNIS

Ross Wilson and Will Bayley win their class 6-8 men's team quarter-final 3-0 against Italy but lose the deciding doubles match to go down 3-2 in their semi-final against Poland.

In the women's team 1-3 event Jane Campbell and Sara Head win their class 1-3 women's team quarter-final 3-2 against Turkey but lose 3-0 to South Korea in the semi-final.

WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL

ParalympicsGB women lose 72-55 to China in their 5-8 classification crossover match.

ParalympicsGB men lose 52-69 to Canada in their semi-final match.

WHEELCHAIR FENCING

Tom Hall-Butcher loses his category A men's individual sabre round of 16 match against Chai Meng Cheong of Hong Kong 10-15.

WHEELCHAIR RUGBY

ParalympicsGB win their second preliminary match 57-50 against France.

WHEELCHAIR TENNIS

Jordanne Whiley and Lucy Shuker lose their women's doubles semi-final clash 6-4 6-3 to their Dutch opponents.
