Britain's Corie Mapp won bronze in the final Para-bobsleigh World Cup race of the season in France on Sunday.

Canada's four-time World Cup champion Lonnie Bissonnette won in two minutes 13.30 seconds, with Sweden's Sebastian Westin just two seconds slower and Mapp another two seconds back.

The race in La Plagne doubled as the European Championships so Westin won European gold with Mapp taking silver.

The former solider, 42, became GB's first European champion in 2019.

Mapp, who won four of last season's 10 World Cup races, was also third fastest from Saturday's race in La Plagne.

Westin won that ahead of Switzerland's Christopher Stewart, and the Swede's runner-up finish on Sunday was enough for the 28-year-old to overtake Stewart in the points standings and become the overall World Cup champion for the first time.

Stewart was second in the World Cup standings ahead of defending champion Bissonnette and claimed European bronze having been fourth fastest on Sunday.

Mapp finished fifth in the World Cup standings, behind Switzerland's Jonas Frei.
